FARM ASSURED MEAT

QUALITY

SAMIC (South African Meat Industry Company) is the government-assigned company responsible for classifying all carcasses produced at an abattoir in South Africa & ensures that all trademarks related to meat products are relevant & do not mislead consumers.

FEEDLOT

Robertson Abattoir only produces beef and lamb for South African Farm Assured Meat Group. And although the majority of which is Free Range, Robertson Abattoir does have its own lamb finishing kraals. It was built in 2009 primarily to help ensure a consistent supply of lambs.

ABATTOIR

As numbers grew, Hennie realized he needed his own outlets to sell his product. In 1995 he opened three butchery shops in Worcester, Ceres, and Robertson. Once these outlets were operational to high standards, he finally completed his desired meat supply chain.

South African Farm Assured Meats Group started from humble beginnings.

In 1989, Hendrik (Hennie) de Bod believed that he could produce lamb and cattle better than what was currently being farmed in the surrounding areas in the Western Cape.

He then decided to start his feedlot in Worcester, and the rest is history.
